The Central Commission for Archival

The Central Commission for Archival Assessment of Documentation (CCAAD) is a consultative body of the General Director of State Archives on matters regarding the forming of state archive collection.

Poland is a country which in result of historical process and intentional destructive actions of invaders lost a lot of evidence of its own history.

Subsequent generations of emigrants contributed significantly to the shaping of national life since 1795. In consequence, collections which are priceless for historical knowledge and awareness were gathered outside Poland.
Today we are facing an urgent need to organise a system for protection of these collections and create conditions for their full scientific use. This is not an easy task and a handful of dedicated curators struggling with many difficulties cannot manage it.
