Central Methodological Commission
Central Methodological Commission is a consultative body of the General Director of State Archives on matters of drawing up, improvement and implementation of scientific methods used by state archives.
The Commission’s scope of duties is governed by Decision No. 6 of the General Director of State Archives of 28 March 2006 on detailed scope of duties and methods of work of the Central Methodological Commission. Earlier Ordinance No. 1 of the General Director of State Archives of 11 January 2002 on detailed scope of duties and methods of work of the Central Methodological Commission was repealed by Ordinance No. 2 of the General Director of State Archives of 28 March 2006 on annulment of the ordinance on detailed scope of duties and methods of work of the Central Methodological Commission.
The Members of the Commission are appointed by the General Director of State Archives from among the employees of archives. The composition of the Commission is determined by an ordinance of the General Director of State Archives on the term of office and composition of the Central Methodological Commission.
The Commission acts pursuant to an annual plan of action. Smaller working teams operate within the Commission, their task is to conduct research on detailed methodological matters.
The Central Methodological Commission collaborates with the Central Commission for Archival Assessment of Documentation in order to evaluate drafts of prescriptive acts issued by the General Director of State Archives.
